Gunmen kill more than 70 at university in Kenya

By TOM ODULA and RODNEY MUHUMUZA: NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — Al-Shabab gunmen stormed a university in northeastern Kenya at dawn Thursday, killing more than 70 people in the group's bloodiest attack in the East African country, officials said. Four of the gunmen were killed by security forces.

Mideast Christian persecution

The Middle East’s Christian population has been gradually dwindling and is on the defensive with respect to its identity – and even its very existence. In the early 20th century Christians made up some 20% of the Middle East’s population. Today they amount to less than 5% of the population.
